When you enter the building you know that you're in for a real Texas treat. Large longhorns adorn the entryway, the tables are unique ranch antiques, and an antique bar is stocked with every liquor imaginable. The Longhorn serves 30+ types of beers and any mixed drink you can think of. Many Brenhamites have made the bar a local hangout so expect a friendly atmosphere headed up by the bartenders. As for the menu, there is a variety of tastes displayed in pastas, thick steaks, seafood and, of course, chicken fried steak. All the portions are Texas size and come with large helpings of sides. Make sure to order a dessert since they are the chef's speciality. Hospitality is a major priority and the servers make you feel like you've been coming there for ages. There's typically a band on Friday nights and six large TV screens always play the sports game of your choice. They're open for lunch and dinner, except for Tuesdays and there's a banquet room available for your special occasions. If you're in Washington County make sure that you stop at The Longhorn for an authentic Texas experience.
